Leaders in Islamabad 2026

Islamabad, Pakistan — September 2026: The 9th edition of the Leaders in Islamabad Business Summit (LIIBS) 2026, themed “The Next Move,” was held on 17th September at Serena Hotel Islamabad, hosted by The Nutshell Group. The summit brought together over a thousand delegates, speakers, and business leaders from more than 30 countries, cementing its place as one of Pakistan’s most significant platforms for dialogue between government, business, diplomacy, and academia.

This year’s edition arrived at a pivotal moment for Pakistan, with geopolitical realignment, technological acceleration, AI adoption, and shifting capital flows reshaping the decisions facing both government and industry. The summit opened with an inaugural session titled “The Next Move: Reading the Moment,” featuring addresses from Bilal Azhar Kayani, Minister of State for Finance and Railways; Muhammad Ali, Federal Minister and Adviser to the Prime Minister on Privatisation; and Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, alongside a keynote from Lucia Real Martin, Global Executive Director at ACCA.

Throughout the day, five strategic dialogues examined the themes shaping Pakistan’s future: Geopolitics, Geoeconomics and Pakistan; Business, Technology and the New Competitive Landscape; AI, Digital Transformation and Economic Value; Capital, Finance and the Confidence Economy; and Pakistan’s Moment of Choice, which featured Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar. Speakers across these sessions included Simon Andrews of the International Finance Corporation, Dr. Samuel Rizk of UNDP Pakistan, Maheen Rahman of InfraZamin Pakistan, Musadik Malik, Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Air Chief Marshal (Retd.) Sohail Aman, Ziad Bashir of the Pakistan Business Council, and Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of JazzWorld, among other prominent voices from business, policy, and international institutions.
